Description

In accordance with government guidelines to minimize transmission of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we may request additional documentation from guests to validate identity, travel itinerary and other relevant information.

Due to Coronavirus (COVID-19), we are taking steps to help protect the safety of guests and staff. Certain services and amenities may be reduced or unavailable.


Schedule: 6days/5 overnights (guesthouse/castle). Our program includes 5 overnights with breakfast and daily dinner. Snacks, wines, bubbles, water, juice, coffee, tea on our deck. Workshop and wine tasting program. Picnic (lunch packet).

Pick up from Carcassonne/Narbonne/Béziers airport or rail station.

Not included: travel insurance, bike hire, besides programs, personal expenses, tip.

Day1: Arrival and transfer to the guesthouse. 17.30h welcome drink on deck of our boat and onboarding with Captain Carsten. 19h Dinner at our favorite restaurant "Le Moulin de Trèbes".

Day2: 10h - 14h Town inspection at the medieval Cité of Carcassonne. 15h Our boat leaves the pier in Trèbes and passes through 11 locks. We will go for a 4-hour boat trip on the Canal du Midi and we will arrive in Puichéric Ecluse d'Aiguilles. You have the choice between a barbeque in idyllic relaxed atmosphere, or for a local restaurant. 

Day3: 9.30h - 13.30h workshop/baking instruction (puff pastry, brioche or Saint-Honoré) with master baker Jean Claude. We will join Captain Carsten around 14h at the pier in Homps. Snack and wine on our sundeck during our trip. Following the waterway route takes us from Homps to Argens Minervois – Roubia – Paraza (2 hour boat trip, 6 locks). The highlight of your journey is the Château of Paraza, where the famous engineer Pierre Paul Riquet was living during the construction of the Canal du Midi. Check ‘in, relax in the pine parc or at the swimming pool with an exceptional view of the Pyrenees. 19.30h Dinner at the castle restaurant. We wish you a sweet and cosy overnight in one of the enchanting castles suites.

Day4: 10h -12.30h tasting workshop with a Family member, discover the wine making of Château Paraza. 13h Our boat leaves the pier at Paraza. (Snack on bord). We will go for a 2-hour boat trip (1 lock) passing quaint little villages as Ventenac-en-Minervois and Le Somail. You are welcome to relax on our sundeck or for more sporty participants, you can go for a bicycle ride along the canal. After taking a breather in Le Somail, we go on our waterway to Port La Roubine and join Sallèles d'Aude (3-hour boat trip, 6 locks). 19h Dinner at “Brasserie du Moulin” l'Ecluse de Narbonne (is subject to be change!)

Day5: So, if you wish, you can go to the morning market to Narbonne "Les Halles". From the Belle Epoque architecture, this could be Paris. Narbonne is the Languedoc's charming baby-city, Roman capital of Gaul, with the Roman canal still running through the city. Take your time to discover Narbonne. After your city trip with shopping and cultural visits, you will be taken to "Le Grand Buffet", a historical gourmet temple in Narbonne, an address not to miss!


Day6: After your breakfast we will drive you to the next rail station or airport.
